Evoland 2 overview
2018-10-19

Today I’m going to talk about Evoland 2: A Slight Case of Space-time Continuum Disorder, the spiritual successor to the original Evoland launched in 2013, with its graphics style changing as you travel through time and its gameplay evolving as you move along the adventure.
In the original game there was no story, you were just trying to save one village.
But in the second game is totally different.
Let’s watch the trailer:
Let’s meet our main heroes:
You play as Kuro our main character; he was named by Fina shortly after he saved her from mushroom creatures.
It is truly unknown if Kuro really doesn't remember his past, since most people assume he doesn't know due to the fact he's mute. (That reminds me of a hero from another game)
Fina, she has powers over nature which she does not fully understand, sometimes she can be stubborn, ill-behaved, irritable but also strangely sweet sometimes (all of which she denies vigorously).
Menos,he is a user of fire powers, torn from his roots through accidental time travel, the fearsome leader of the Demon armies has a hard time adjusting to the peace of the present times.
Velvet, she is a user of ice powers, she an experienced explorer and archeologist of high repute; she's more than willing to put her life in danger in her search for antique artifacts. Especially when they should belong in a museum!
The Powers System:
By holding down the attack button, the player can charge up a special attack, which changes depending on the selected partner.
Fina uses a slash attack.
Menos slams into the ground with great force.
Velvet can freeze enemies with ice balls.
These powers can not only be used to defeat enemies but are also used to solve puzzles.
Across the world there are three guardians, who can upgrade the attack to become even more powerful.
You need to save the world from a powerful “demon” by going to:
The past:
The story takes place in a war-torn world where every character have their own ambitions, and the definition of good and bad is really a question of perspective.
The present:
The action takes place 50 years after the Past era and everything is much quieter.
In fact, the Empire is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its victory over the Demons (this doesn’t please Menos) and it seems everything is going well in a cheerful and thriving world.
The future:
Something happened, something bad. The future in this world is a scary era, with a cataclysm that changed the world, delusional citizens trying to pretend it never happened and new faction vying for power.
Changing the course of history seems like the right thing to do, but the flow of time seems to be the cause of the problems
(I was going to forget about this amazing feature) there is a bullet hell minigame in your adventure where you use a flying machine.
I loved this game! Playing it is a blast, and it's just so much fun. If you are a fan of video games in general, I'd almost guarantee there’s something in here for you. Evoland 2 is:
- An adventure game!
- A story-based game!
- An RPG!
- A platformer!
- A 2D game!
- A 3D game!
- A Shoot-em-up!
- A fighting game!
- A Puzzle game!
- And much, much more
If you're a fan of video games, especially ones with interesting stories, this game is for you. It's also pretty nostalgic in its aesthetic, so if you like retro, you'd like this game.
